Iberville Parish is latest Capital Area parish to be placed under burn ban Iberville and West Feliciana parishes have been the latest Capital Area parishes to be placed under burn bans due to extremely dry conditions and an increased risk of wildfires. The ban prohibits open-air burning of trash, garbage, leaves, branches, and debris throughout the parish. It is intended to reduce the risk of uncontrolled fires that could threaten residents, homes, property, and emergency response resources. The burn ban does not apply to agricultural burning, structured fire pits and outdoor cooking. Other parishes in the area include Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, Tangipahoa and East FelicianA.
