The Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge has implemented a new visitation policy following an attempted kidnapping. The main change involves limiting visitors to a four-person guest list and limiting visitors not wearing a badge to be denied entrance or turned away. BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Leaders at the Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital are making significant changes following an attempted kidnapping late last week.

A woman was arrested after police say she tried to snatch a child being cared for at the facility.

“We have learned from this isolated incident, and we will be better because of it. We will continue to be a place of healing and hope for kids and families from across Louisiana,” said Jonathan Brouk, the President of the Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.

The main change is limiting people to a four-person guest list. All visitors will continue to be identified upon entry, but now you can expect to be identified a second time when you reach the patient unit area.

According to a spokesperson for the hospital, visitors not wearing a badge will be denied entrance to the facility or turned away.

The hospital president is hoping these new rules will ease any concerns people might have following that kidnapping scare.

“We’ve had some complaints about this new process, we know it is inconvenient, but we hope you understand the important role in their effort to keep the children safe,” said Brouk.
