Man flees on bike after shooting, officials say; search underway
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who is allegedly connected to a shooting that happened on Wednesday night, April 3. The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for Mark Dewayne Covington, 35, for attempted second-degree murder. The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. on April 3 in Walker, Louisiana. Deputies found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest at the scene and he was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Surveillance cameras captured a man fleeing the scene on a bike. The victim is currently listed as stable. Covingon is wanted for attempted murder. LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (WAFB) - The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who is allegedly connected to a shooting that happened on Wednesday night, April 3.
According to the sheriff’s office, Mark Dewayne Covington, 35, of Walker, is wanted for attempted second-degree murder.
The shooting reportedly happened around 11 p.m. on Joe Lee Road in Walker.
Sheriff Jason Ard said deputies found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest at the scene, and he was taken to the hospital for medical care. Surveillance cameras captured a man, identified as Covington, fleeing the scene on a bike, added Ard.
The victim is currently listed as stable, officials confirmed.
