GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) — Put on your cowboy boots and get ready for the two-day live music event Rock the Country with Kid Rock and Jason Aldean in Gonzales.

The festival stops in Gonzales from April 5-6 at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center, located at 9039 S. St. Landry Ave.

Country music fans will get a wristband to enter the event. The wristband will let people register their credit cards for tap-to-pay at vendors, according to the festival’s website.

Here’s what to know before it’s time to go to the festival.

Tickets are still on sale. There are a variety of options such as two-day general admission, elevated seating and VIP. There are also tickets for RV camping, car camping and a weekend parking pass.

Wristbands can be activated online before entering the festival grounds.

The Friday and Saturday schedule shows that parking opens at noon with doors opening at 3 p.m.

Jason Aldean is slated to headline at 9:30 p.m. Friday, and Kid Rock will close out the festival starting 9:45 p.m. Saturday. Saturday’s schedule notes a “huge surprise guest” appearing on the stage at 9 p.m.

The following items are allowed at the festival, according to the website:

• Empty plastic water containers for use at the water stations.

• Blankets and lawn chairs for use in the chair zones.

Festivalgoers cannot bring in the following items:

• Guns, knives or weapons of any kind.

The website clarifies that bags do not have to be clear to be allowed on the grounds but will be searched at entry.

Rock the Country organizers said the festival will happen “rain or shine.” In the event of severe weather, organizers will collaborate with local emergency management agencies to make a plan for festivalgoers’ safety.

Weather forecasts from the BRProud Stormtracker Team show that highs will be in the upper 70s on Friday and Saturday.
