Personnel moves at Heritage Ranch, Global Wildlife Center

Baton Rouge Loren Ransom has been named interim executive director of Heritage Ranch, replacing Vicki Ellis, who founded the residential Christian children's home for young men 20 years ago. Ransom will join the staff in 2020 after previous work at The Dunham School and Pine Cove Christian Camps. A permanent executive director has been appointed. Rhett Butler has been hired by Helix Mentorship STEAM Academy as director of development for the corporate work study program.

Loren Ransom has been named interim executive director of Heritage Ranch.

Ransom will replace Vicki Ellis, who founded the residential Christian children's home for young men 20 years ago. Ellis will serve in an advisory role at the ranch.

Ransom currently serves as chief operating officer of the ranch. He joined the staff in 2020 after stints at The Dunham School and Pine Cove Christian Camps in Texas.

A search for a permanent executive director has been launched.

Rhett Butler has been hired by Helix Mentorship STEAM Academy as director of development for the corporate work study program.

Butler has worked in the nonprofit sector for more than 17 years. Most recently he served as development director for Gardere Community Christian School. He has also served as the development director for LSU Alumni Association, Tiger Athletic Foundation, LSU Foundation and the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business.
