The New Orleans airport is losing a direct flight to the Miami area as JetBlue Airways announced nationwide cuts this week.

The route between New Orleans and Fort Lauderdale will stop flying June 13, JetBlue confirmed Wednesday.

But JetBlue customers can still connect through New York or Boston to get to South Florida, the airline said.

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport still offers direct flights to Fort Lauderdale via Spirit and Southwest Airlines, said airport spokesperson Erin Burns.

The most recent nonstop routes added at MSY are San Juan, Puerto Rico; Columbus, Ohio, and Indianapolis.
