As early voting ends in Louisiana, Senate candidates make final pitches: ‘go to the polls’
Julia Letlow and Jamie Davis took contrasting approaches as they urged supporters to the polls on the final day of early voting. Democrat Jamie Davis and Republican Julia Letlow are campaigning on the final day of early voting in Louisiana, urging voters to vote. Davis held an open rally in New Orleans with 100 supporters and joined U.S. Rep. Troy Carter, actor Wendell Pierce, and local elected officials. Letlow, a third-term member of Congress, visited six parishes in northeast Louisiana on a statewide tour. Both campaigns are now analyzing the voting figures and planning to make final strategy adjustments before Election Day on Nov. 3. Despite the high overall turnout and Black voters casting ballots in disproportionately large numbers, Davis remains optimistic about upsetting Letlow in a state where no Democrat currently holds statewide office.
