The sixth annual event, held on March 27, brought together alumni, students, faculty, and staff to support the university's future goals. Approximately 70 donors contributed to the total of nearly $35,000 raised for the university. James expressed his appreciation for the impact LSU Health has made on North Louisiana and beyond. The donations will benefit future healthcare leaders and scientists.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Bradie James, Former Dallas Cowboys linebacker, All-American at LSU, and Monroe native donated to LSU Health Shreveport on LSU Giving Day.
The sixth annual LSU Giving Day took place on March 27. It brought together LSU alumni, students, faculty, and staff to support the university’s future goals. The collective generosity of the LSU community also provides scholarship opportunities.
With the help of about 70 donors LSU Health Shreveport raised nearly $35,000.
James donated $10,000 to support LSU Health Shreveport’s mission to enhance the educational experience for aspiring healthcare professionals.
The former LSU athlete noted in a statement “Being from North Louisiana I’ve witnessed firsthand the impact that LSU Health Shreveport has made in this region and beyond, that’s why I decided to make a gift,”
According to the organization, collectively LSU Health Shreveport’s School of Medicine, School of Allied Health, and School of Graduates studies raised $58,000.
Leaders of the organization expressed their gratitude for the positive impact these donations will make on the lives of future and current students.
“LSU Health Shreveport educates and trains the next generation of healthcare professionals and scientists – but we can only do that with the support of our community. It’s exciting to see faculty, staff, alumni, and our community come together on LSU Giving Day and show their support. By supporting scholarships and student initiatives, we can create opportunities for our future healthcare leaders and scientists.” said Kevin Flood, President & CEO of the LSU Health Sciences Foundation.
