BATON ROUGE, La. ( BRPROUD) – Scotland Saturdays will have a special free concert in honor of Juneteenth featuring renowned R&B singer-songwriter Justin Garner at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 15.
The event, sponsored by the AMP Levitt Foundation in partnership with Scotland Saturdays, will take place at Scotlandville Plaza.
As a celebration of Juneteenth, the concert honors the significance of this historic day while bringing the community together through music and culture.
“To me, it’s so important because it needs to be celebrated. It needs to be recognized. And to be an artist performing this weekend, musically, I feel like that’s my commitment and my gift back to the community of Scotlandville and Baton Rouge,” Garner said.
In addition to Garner’s performance, attendees can enjoy a variety of activities, food, vendors and other live entertainment throughout the evening.
