IBERVILLE PARISH, La. (WAFB) - The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank will begin distributing USDA donated food commodities to families in need in Bayou Sorrel and Bayou Pigeon on Friday, June 14.
The Iberville Parish Government announced the distribution will take place between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. at the Bayou Pigeon and Sorrel New Fire Station, located at 35575 Highway 75 in Plaquemine.
According to officials, commodities will be given only to those who qualify based on the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and USDA guidelines. Qualification is based on income.
Families will be registered when they come to the distribution, and they should bring the following documents:
• None Income verification (can be done verbally)
The distribution is a partnership between the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, Iberville Parish Council, and the Office of Social Services.
