NWS: 2 F1 Tornadoes confirmed in North Tangipahoa area
The National Weather Service has confirmed that Tuesday’s (June 4) storms triggered multiple tornadoes. The National Weather Service confirmed that two F1 tornadoes were confirmed in the North Tangipahoa area on June 4. The NWS rates an F-1 tornado area in Kentwood, Louisiana, which stretched 5.2 miles, and a second in the Gillsburg-Osyka, Mississippi area that stayed on the ground for 16 miles. Straightline winds were also the source of wind damage in Amite.

KENTWOOD, La. (WVUE) - The National Weather Service has confirmed that Tuesday’s (June 4) storms triggered multiple tornadoes.
The NWS rates an F-1 tornado area in Kentwood that stretched 5.2 miles. A second tornado outside of Tangipahoa Parish formed in the Gillsburg-Osyka, Mississippi area that stayed on the ground for 16 miles.
Straightline winds also were the source of wind damage in Amite. The NWS confirmed that 85 to 95 miles per hour winds.
